Spare Us More Change.....We've Had Plenty the Last Two Years!
George W. Bush has been in office for 71/2 years. For the first six years, the economy was fine. A little over one year ago:
- Consumer confidence stood at a 21/2-year high
- Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon
- The unemployment rate was 4.5 percent
- The Dow Jones hit a record high of 14,000-plus
- Americans were buying new cars, taking cruises and vacations overseas-living large!
But Americans wanted "Change." So, in 2006 they voted in a
Democrat Congress. And, yep, we got change alright:
- Consumer confidence has plummeted
- Gasoline hit $4 a gallon
- Unemployment is up to 6.1 percent
- Americans have seen their home values drop by trillions of dollars
- 1 percent of American homes are in foreclosure
- The Dow Jones is probing another low--nearing 11,000--and $2.5 trillion has evaporated from our investment portfolios.
Yep, in 2006 America voted for change! And we got it--a
Democrat Congress led by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. Now the Democrats' candidate for President claims he's gonna
really give us change! Just how much more "change" do you thing you can stand?
The fact of the matter is that it has been the do-nothing Congress with their pitiful 9% approval rating that have landed us in this current position. I have my own beef with President Bush. The fact that he has approved almost every spending bill this Congress has sent him is aggravating. However, many of the issues occurring today cannot or could not have been changed by Bush alone. Bush does not write bills, Congress does.
What bills have they written? Nothing significant that would help every day citizens. Yes, the bi-partisan Congress passed a stimulus package, but it was too late to stop the downfall. Have they taken ANY steps to reduce our dependency on foreign oil?
Republicans were voted out in 2006 because of the war and corruption. Well, the war is going better, and now the Democrats have the majority on corruption....Senator Dodd, Senator Rengle, Congressman William Jefferson.
Finally, a thought for my friends here in the Ohio Valley and for that matter OH, PA, WV, and MI......who runs your local, county, and state governments? How many of your Congressman and Senators are Democrats? I know this area. These areas have continued to lose jobs and population for decades and in MOST cases, the Democrats have run their governments for DECADES.........To agree with Mr. Bastl above, it's time for change...just not the change Obama offers.

John McCain: Republicans Lost The Trust of The American People
The issue of this election is exactly what direction we want to take the country. On the left are leaders such as Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama. The reason that Hillary was so popular is because, right or wrong, people did not associate her with the left-wing fringe. Democrats took over in 2006 with a list of things they were going to accomplish, yet they haven't achieved much. It is the lowest rate Congress in history.
On the other side are leaders like John McCain, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and the next generation of Republicans. Let's be honest......no one thinks that John McCain is a Conservative. He has reached across the aisle to the detriment of himself.
As a voter, it is easy to blame Bush. I voted for the guy and I blame him. In John McCain's speech tonight he stated, "the Republican party has lost the trust of the American people." The man trashed his own party during his own convention. If that isn't a maverick, I am not sure how much stronger that you can get. The fact is that Republicans did not lose in 2006 because they acted like Republicans, they lost because they forgot who they were.
Does this country want to follow the direction of Senator Obama and head toward the left? Do we want to follow Europe's failed economic policies, nanny state, and double-digit unemployment? Do we want to raise taxes, increase spending, and regulate free speech? Europe has already thrown out the left and brought back the Conservatives.
or
Do we want to lower corporate taxes to bring business back home? Do we want to use our natural resources and protect our national security? Do we want all children to be able to attend good schools instead of being stuck in schools that create the poverty and disenfranchisement that is being repeated every year?
No party is perfect. No politician is either. I believe that John McCain can take back the Republican party and put it on the road it should have been on for years. He may not be a great orator. We will concede that point, but he has a proven track record of getting things done.............whether we like it or not.

Why Do The Democrats Hate So Much?..........Republicans Are Feeling The Love!
I won't repeat the rumor mill and the disparaging remarks across the web about Sarah Palin. They are despicable. It should not surprise any of us that when you have no actual arguments, you resort to name-calling. Some have asked what type of mother is she for running for Vice-President. Regardless of your party affiliation, this should feel like a slap in the face to most women. Has Barack Obama been asked what type of father he is for campaigning and leaving his children? I doubt the thought has ever crossed any one's mind to ask.
I won't touch the slander that is being made of Sarah Palin. What I will touch is the reprehensible remarks of those on the left about the approaching Hurricane, Gustav. Does it surprise you that documentary film maker, Michael Moore laughed while saying, "I was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven. To have it planned at the same time – that it would actually be on its way to New Orleans for day one of the Republican Convention, up in the Twin Cities – at the top of the Mississippi River.”
The hate doesn't end there. Former National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Don Fowler, and Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina were taped on a flight returning from the Democratic National Convention making fun of Governor Palin and laughing about the Hurricane. Fowler said that God was on the side of the Democrats. See the video below:
Why is it that some Democrats only find God when they are using it against Republicans and conservatives?
On the other side of the aisle, the Republicans are having a lovefest and guess what? We have asked some Democrats, Independents, and of course women to join the party. The right is excited and they are putting their money where their mouth is. Since Governor Palin's announcement, the McCain campaign received almost 7 million dollars in online donations.
John McCain has seen a growing number of supporters at his rally events. Saturday in Washington, PA brought over 10,000 while Sunday's event in Missouri had over 17,000 supporters. Don't underestimate this excitement. The word about Palin is growing and she has generated more interest in an election year that could have been one-sided. Yes, it's a lovefest on the right and never-ending hate on the left.

Don't Be Too Quick To Dismiss Palin......She is More Than A Woman!
Like most people today, I had never heard of Sarah Palin until about six months ago. I stumbled onto the now hit website, palinforvp.blogspot.com. After reading Adam Brinkley's blog, I did some more research of my own. She is impressive. She got me excited about politics and was the reason I started my own blog.
A few days ago, I posted a blog, "Why Is Obama So Afraid of Women?". From the reaction today, my blog post was dead on. The first reaction of not only the Obama campaign, but every single Democrat that could get media attention, was atrocious. Obama's spokesman, Bill Burton, had the following to say before she even made an appearance on the stage, "Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the Presidency."
Really sir, you want to talk about experience? Sarah Palin has taken on tougher challengers than Barack Obama and Joe Biden combined. Look on youtube.com for her debates during her Gubernatorial campaign. She is tough as nails and put those boys in their place more than a few times. She took on corruption in Alaska in her own party and believe me they have come after her for it. While Senator Obama has been out on the campaign trail for the last 18 months talking the talk, she has been in Alaska walking the walk.
Sarah Palin has passed more important bills in the last month than Senator Obama has in his entire life. She went to Iraq to visit our troops before Senator Obama did and she didn't take a media crew with her. She doesn't take positions or make a stand based on anything other than her ideals and morals.
Before you write her off as an inexperienced woman as the Obama campaign would want you to believe, do a little research, watch the debate with Joe Biden, and most of all, keep an open mind. You will be impressed. I didn't stay up most of the night last night following flights from Alaska over at Adam's website for nothing.
Senator Obama: Sarah Palin is more than a woman..................and by the way....you have every reason to be afraid!!!!!!!!
I will have pictures and a blog posted tomorrow night from the campaign rally in Washington, PA . Be sure to check back.

Hillary Tows The Line.............Barely!
I listened carefully. To be honest, the only endorsement I heard from Hillary was vote for Barack Obama because he is a Democrat. She technically did the job that she was sent to do, but she didn't address the concerns that she herself brought up about Obama.
She didn't once address his experience. She didn't address what he will do for our country. She said nothing that would relieve her supporters fears about Barack Obama's past, his radical associations, or why he is ready to lead our country.
Now, don't get me wrong. I don't blame Hillary. She didn't want to lie. She didn't want to be seen as the reason why Obama will lose. If he doesn't get a bounce in the polls after the convention, I can tell you now, his minions will blame her and her supporters for it.
Another thing that I noticed, and I am sure that a lot of other women out there noticed, was the look on Michelle Obama's face throughout the entire speech. The only two times that she smiled were when her own name was mentioned and when the speech was over. Out of curiosity, I looked at a few of the PUMA sights and it was not an observation that I was making alone.
I believe that Senator Clinton said it best during the primary:
"I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience he will bring to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech that he gave in 2002."
Congratulations Senator Clinton on your historic run for the Presidency. You have cracked the glass ceiling and if we're lucky John McCain's VP will finish the job for you.

Why is Barack Obama So Afraid of Women?

A few months ago, Senator McCain was thought to be considering a woman for the VP position on his ticket. Not just any woman, but Alaskan Governor, Sarah Palin. For those who haven't heard of Sarah Palin, you could say that she is the "maverick" of the Alaskan political game. She is a true reformer who took on corruption in her own party. She was making the media rounds and her name was getting alot of play in political circles.
The Obama campaign apparently did not want to be forced to put Hillary Clinton on the ticket so his minions set out to attack Sarah Palin. How? Obama's operatives in Alaska led by State Senator Hollis French have brought a frivolous investigation against Sarah Palin in order to derail her chances of becoming VP. Unfortunately for them, it appears to be blowing up in their face and Governor Palin may very well still be in the running for the Republican ticket.
You can find all of the information about Governor Palin at Palin for VP.
Why is Barack Obama so afraid to run with or against women? One last thought....have you ever noticed how many of John McCain's spokespeople on the media rounds are women? Have you noticed how many top business women have lined up to support John McCain? How many prominent women can you name in the Obama campaign?
Barack Obama, when will you learn that you will never win this election without the support of ..........duh, women!!!!!

Please Allow Me to Vent...Obama & Abortion
However.....After listening to Senator Obama last night during the Saddleback Church Forum, I was angry. That doesn't happen alot. Even as passionate as I am about energy, taxes, etc., I have never really been angry. So please allow me this one post and one post only to vent.
Both candidates last night were asked a series of questions, the same questions. Each was asked the following: At what point does a baby get human rights?
John McCain quickly stated, "At conception."
Barack Obama responded, "Whether you are looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade."
I am angered on so many levels. What exactly does he mean above his pay grade? If you are unable to answer this question, regardless of your stance, you do not deserve to be President. Here is my vent.
Why do so many people put their first sonogram picture on their refrigerators? The baby is only usually 8 weeks old. Ask someone who miscarries at 6 or 8 weeks, whether they lost a baby or not? Ask a woman who sits in a NICU praying for a baby who was born 26, 28, 32 weeks, whether it's a baby or not. Ask those mothers who try desperately to have a baby for years what they would do to be pregnant?
Barack Obama voted against the Born -Alive Infant Protection Act which would give rights to a baby that was born alive after surviving an abortion. They allow the baby to die without any medical attention. It's disgusting. I don't care it you are pro-choice, this should repulse you.
In a visit to Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Senator Obama had this to say about babies.
"I’ve got two daughters; 9 years old and 6 years old,” Obama said. “I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with baby."
I'm sorry, but babies are anything, but a punishment regardless of how they were conceived or brought into this world. He continues to amaze me in his level of ignorance.
I believe in a woman's right to choose. I believe women have the right to choose whether to have sex or not. I believe women have the right to decide who to have sex with. I believe women have a right to choose their birth control. I believe that women have a right to keep their baby or give it up for adoption. We have many choices in life. You have many choices before and after conception without considering abortion as a choice.
Regardless of your party, or even your stance on abortion, we should be suspicious of a man who has such little respect for human life. At the very least, he should be man enough to state his position.

Bad Things Happen to Obama While On Vacation
Poor Barack Obama. He tries to take a week's vacation and all hell breaks loose with his campaign. Let's review just a few of the bad things that happened to his campaign while on vacation.
- Russia invades Georgia: Obama first makes a pitiful, standard statement about the incident before making two additional statements. All while running on the beaches in Hawaii. Meanwhile, Senator McCain is out front and center on the issue and making Presidential-like statements on a daily basis. Senator McCain has traveled to Georgia and already met with Georgia's President in the past. Senator McCain has also stated in the past his distrust for Putin and speaks from his experience. How many of Obama's 300 foreign policy advisers did it take to come up with his statements?
- Breaking News: Obama's campaign is requiring those wanting tickets to his acceptance speech to volunteer in order to receive their tickets. Oh, but volunteering doesn't guarantee you a ticket. Staff were sent out for damage control immediately, but even some Democrats were angered.
- Nancy Pelosi opens her mouth: Every time Nancy Pelosi opened her mouth while Barack Obama was on vacation, she hurts him a little more. First, she wanted to save the planet. Then she softened, yah right, her position on drilling. Finally, you can add blackmail to the list. She actually threatened Senator Leiberman that she would take away his committee seats if he doesn't back off of Obama. Too bad he is in the Senate and not in the House where Pelosi rules.
- Kwame Kilpatrick wants to come to the convention: The disgraced Detroit Mayor who is a superdelegate and supporter of Obama wants to attend the convention. I'm sure that the people in Michigan would love to be reminded of Kilpatrick's support for Obama. The press would love to get a picture of Kilpatrick's ankle bracelet while attending the convention. He's currently only ahead by 3 points in this blue state that could turn red this year.
- Jerome Corsi's anti-Obama book hits number one on NY Times Best Seller List: The swift-boat author writes a seething tell-all book about Obama. The book, Obama Nation, immediately climbs to number one. Senator Obama sends out John Kerry to defame Corsi. Really...you want John Kerry, a Presidential loser, to defend you?
- And finally...........drum roll please....Hillary Clinton takes over the Democratic Convention. I don't care how many times you try to convince me that Senator Obama believe this will unify the party, THIS IS BAD. The Clintons will now have three days of the convention centered around them. It is not a good thing, no matter how much the Obama camp tells you it is.
Senator Obama only has one more day of vacation. I wonder what else could possibly go wrong. I'll update tomorrow, Friday, if there is any other BIG news!!!
Friday's Update: Did I mention that while Obama was on vacation, he tanked in the polls? Kwame now also has to stand trial for assault? Howard Dean called the Republican party the "white" party? The Republicans have a picture of him swimming in Hawaii reminiscent of Kerry's 2004 sailboat picture?
And we still have the Democratic Convention to go.........it couldn't get better than this.........or could it?

10 Questions Barack Obama Will Never Be Asked
- While in the Illinois Senate you voted "present" 130 times, why did you choose not to take a stand on such issues as gun-control, gay rights, and abortion?
- How do you intend to pay for your proposed $660 billion dollars worth of additional spending without raising taxes on the middle class and small business owners?
- Why would you write an article about what you are going to do in Iraq one week before actually visiting Iraq and meeting with top generals on the ground?
- Are you shifting your positions to the middle to get independent votes while playing "wink-wink" with the ACLU and other leftist groups?
- Why do you refuse to debate Senator McCain in a town-hall meeting?
- Why do you support equal pay for women and then pay your female staff members on average $7000.00 less than their male counterparts?
- Do you believe that 71% of the American people are wrong for wanting to drill here in the US?
- Why do you feel that illegal aliens have a right to tax-payer funded health care?
- Why do you support infanticide?
- Why did you recently replace the American flag on your campaign airplane with your own Obama campaign symbol?
