Firearms Freedom Act may be coming to a state near you

By Kimberly Moore

Who could have imagined that a draft request received on October 27, 2008 proposing an act to exempt from federal regulation the right to manufacture commercially or privately a personal firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition would actually pass? While tea parties were occuring all over the country on April 15, 2009, the Governor of Montana signed into law the Firearms Freedom Act. At the time of this writing, there has been little discussion of this in the mainstream media, but soon, they (the media) will be forced to report this because states such as Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, and Wyoming are following suit with similar acts in their state legislatures. As a matter of fact, Tennessee has started the voting process on their own Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act just this week.

I'm curious why the media, including the cable news channel networks, are not discussing this? This act is a direct challenge against federal law and will probably go to the Supreme Court. However, if that happens, Montana may threaten to secede from the Union. Texas has threatened this as well. If patriots band together, especially from the states that are proposing Firearms Freedom Acts, the Feds may have their hands tied and have no choice but to allow the states these freedoms. "Article II, section 12, of the Montana constitution clearly secures to Montana citizens, and prohibits government interference with, the right of individual Montana citizens to keep and bear arms. This constitutional protection is unchanged from the 1889 Montana constitution, which was approved by congress and the people of Montana, and the right exists as it was understood at the time that the compact with the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the United States in 1889." Legislative Services Division, Montana

This legislation should be a wake up call to the federal government that the American people will not tolerate any infringement to their 2nd Amendment rights nor their states rights regarding firearms, firearms accessories, or ammunition. The more states pass similar bills into law, the more difficult it will be for the federal government to enforce any future consideration of imposing stricter gun laws within state territories.

So, instead of 'Made in USA', we will start seeing 'Made in Montana' or 'Made in Arkansas' or 'Made in Wyoming' or 'Made in (fill in your state's name)'.

Um, my first question is how on earth do you consider yourself a patriot if you are promoting secession? That makes you in a bygone era a rebel or in our time frame a domestic terrorist.

As for your comments about the 2nd Amendment, again I start off by saying if you are promoting secession why do you care about the constitution of this country? Regardless of your obvious contradictions, the people of Montana put forth a measure that made sense and was popular for their populace. They passed it into law, and will remain on the books unless challenged through the court system.

If the Supreme Court rules in favor of the new law, the the Federal guidelines will be modified to reflect this. If the Supreme Court rules in favor of the Federal Government, the law will be declared unconstitutional and voided.

This is how our country works. It has its problems for sure, but people declaring that the country is over due to the election of one man is absurd, and cowardly.

Um, in 1775, our Founding fathers were probably considered "terrorist and traitors" by the British. They had wisely summized that the current government of our land at that time did not represent the culture and ideology of the colonies. They therefore decided that Life and Liberty must be defended by the use of arms against a tyrannical government. Because of this, we are the United States of America. At this time, our Founding Fathers decided to include the second amendment in our Bill of rights that would ensure that no matter when in our future, if there was ever a tyrannical government come into power, our citizenry would have the means to repel tyranny. I took an oathe to defend this constitution against all threats foreign and domestic.. This was easy when the threat was the Soviet Union and later Islamofascist, but recently we do have a threat that is domestic, and it's not the people at the tea parties trying to make their voices heard, it is the administratino in Washington that does not adhere to the people's call to stop the bailouts, stop illegal immigration, stop try to disarm us through unconstitutional laws, and stop taking the hard earned money we work so hard for to be only taken away and spent on socialist welfare projects and just plain idiotic pork earmarks.
The second Amendemnt does not guarantee the right to a hunting club, or plinking, it recognizes the God given right to defend ourselves, our families and country against anything that would deprive us of our liberty. It is obvious that Montana, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and other states are recognizing the THREAT coming from our new administration are are doing everything in their legal means to deflect any more draconian gun laws that come down from the Federal government. There are time when the laws of right and wrong may not be upheld by our supreme court. "remember dred scott" and it is times such as these that the American people must stand and be heard. A government which fears its people ensures that the people are free; a people who fears their government are slaves. Sometimes there are principles worth dying for. If I am labeled a terrorist, homophobe, right wing extremist, racist or a coward by those who would like to see us stand by and do nothing, than I am in good company with the founders of this country. The main stream media and the Liberal Left wing would love for all of us "tea partiers" to just go away and stay the silent majority.. those days are over. in April of 2009 over 1.25 million firearms were sold in this country as confirmed by national background checks. Preparadness is a virtue.. only 22% of Americans fought in our revolution; 30% sided with the British and were called Tories and Loyalist; the remainder of Americans did nothing. I will not be counted among those who are apathetic because they are so in love with their material goods and are so used to the gov. handing out the pizza that they won't ever do anything to stop the freebies. This "one man" has spent more money to increase our deficit in the history of our country, this "one Person" is leading us down the road to socialism and taking our rights as Americans away one by one. If something is not done, we will not recognize this nation in two years. I will not stand by and watch my land be destroyed by those who have no concept what America is and what it stands for; fortunately, many in the military will NOT obey unconstitutional orders, and many of my fellow Americans will not "go gently into the night"
As Benjamin Franklin once said, "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
